The Parish Council Financial Regulations govern the financial management of the Council and provide procedural guidance for members and officers. Financial regulations must be observed in conjunction with the Council's Standing Orders and individual financial regulations in relation to contracts.
The Parish Council finances its activities from part of the council tax paid by households in the parish. Winscombe and Sandford Parish Council has set its precept (the amount of money it raises from council tax payers) for the current financial year (April 2023 to March 2024) from £174,000 to £185,500 and would mean a Local Council Element of Headline Council Tax per D Band property increase from £80.25 to £84.02 which was equivalent to a 4.7% increase rise per ‘D’ band property on the current financial year.
